UBS and the Credit Suisse Group, Switzerland’s two largest banks, agreed to pay almost 357 million euros ($548 million) to settle all legal claims related to their role in financing Parmalat.

Parmalat, the Italian dairy, had 6.5 million euros ($10 million) in cash left six days after filing for bankruptcy in 2003, rather than the 4 billion euros it claimed to have.
